From the Back Cover: In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before-and survival.

My Thoughts: I have heard raving reviews about this book and I have been dying to read it. I finally got around to purchasing it on the Nook. I loved this book. Katniss is one of those characters that you wont soon forget. Her emotions are real and believable. It totally lived up to the expectations I had. I loved the plot and setting. The arena was an eerie place that at some points had me on the edge of my seat. At some points in the plot I had to yell, "Run!" or it had me laughing.

This book was a great read. Not only was it fun and fast, it was very thought provoking. It had me thinking about it as I lay in bed at night. It was memorable book that you should go pick up now, if you haven't already!

Seriously, read this book.
